On this day in 1776 the Continental Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence. Each year on the Fourth of July, we are reminded of the sacrifices made by military personnel in defense of this nation. Since 1775, one year before adoption of the Declaration of Independence, the US Marine Corps had been defending our freedoms; we acknowledge so with the attachment.
