Many of the 26 million Veterans in the nation were notified, that on Saturday, the Republic lost a unique American Patriot and loyal supporter of the US military establishment, Col Bud Day, USAF (Ret) (Vietnam POW) (Medal of Honor) (Air Force Cross) (Air Force Distinguished Service Medal) (Silver Star Medal)(Legion of Merit) (Distinguished Flying Cross) (4 Bronze Star Medals with Combat “V”) (Defense Meritorious Medal) (4 Purple Heart Medals) (10 Air Medals) (Prisoner of War Medal) (44 other medals were awarded for dedicated combat service in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam).  Col Day was a very early financial supporter of the Combat Veterans For Congress PAC; he called from time to time to provide us with his leadership skills, and valued advice.  He is the only American who ever made a donation to “every” endorsed Combat Veteran For Congress, regardless of the state they were running in, and regardless of whether or not they had a chances of winning their Senate or Congressional races.

JERUSALEM – In a bombshell admission that has until now gone unreported, Martin Dempsey, chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff, conceded that highly trained Special Forces were stationed just a few hours away from Benghazi on the night of the attacks but were not told to deploy to Libya.

In comments that may warrant further investigation, Dempsey stated at a Senate hearing Wednesday that on the night of the Sept. 11, 2012, attack, command of the Special Forces – known as C-110, or the EUCOM CIF – was transferred from the military’s European command to AFRICOM, or the United States Africa Command.

Dempsey did not state any reason for the strange transfer of command nor could he provide a timeline for the transfer the night of the attack.

Also, Dempsey’s comments on the travel time between Croatia and Benghazi were incorrect.

His remarks for the first time confirm an exclusive Fox News interview aired April 30 in which a special government operator, speaking on condition of anonymity, contradicted claims by the Obama administration and a State Department review that there wasn’t enough time for military forces to deploy the night of the attack.

 Forty years ago, President Nixon finally succeeded in having Secretary of State Henry Kissinger complete the negotiation for the repatriation of the Vietnam POWs from North Vietnam.  On the weekend of May 23rd, for the last time, the surviving Vietnam POWs solemnly celebrated the 40th anniversary of their release, at the Nixon Presidential Library.  If you have ever read any of the many books published, articles printed in publications/newspapers, or read interviews given by Vietnam POWs you will understand that the common thread that helped get them thru their very difficult period of captivity was their faith in God, their religious worship away from the eyes of their captors, and the support the Prisoner of War Code of Conduct was inculcated in them; Article VI is listed below.

 The US military tries to instill the Code of Conduct in all US military personnel to remind them of their  “character and heritage”, and in order to emphasize to them that as American fighting men and women they have inner strengths to rely on, in face of the mental and physical abuses they will have to endure if they are ever captured. “Character’ was emphasized in American’s youth at home each day by parents, in the public/parochial schools by teachers, by the leaders and coaches of the various organizations they belonged to (the 4 H Club, the Boy Scouts, the YMCA, the Girl Scouts, the Boys Club, their athletic teams, their church organizations, at the YWCA, etc.), by religious leaders in the churches/synagogues they attended, in service academies where they were instilled with the Honor System/Honor…

 Congressman Joe Heck, Col-USAR (MC) (R-NV-3), an endorsed and elected Combat Veterans For Congress, authored a new version of the Stolen Valor Act.  The first Stolen Valor Law made it a crime to lie about being awarded a medal for valor while serving in the US Armed Forces. Last summer the Supreme Court ruled the Stolen Valor Law was too broad and violated the “Free Speech” provision of the US Constitution.  Congressman Heck said he understood that fraud is already a crime, but noted that each state punishes it in a different way, and since the military awards for valor are federally authored awards, he felt strongly that there needed to be a uniform federal standard to deal with the issue.   Last summer, Congressman Heck analyzed the Supreme Court’s decision, and saw an opening to propose an updated version of the law by inserting a line about gaining “material advantage”.  The new language in the Act states that if someone lies about being awarded a certain medal, with the intent of gaining materially, profiting personally, or profiting financially it would violate the Stolen Valor Act.

“People who earn these awards have taken an oath to put their life on the line,” Congressman Heck said, “and awards are often given posthumously.” These types of issues should be held to a higher standard. Evidently, the Supreme Court thinks it’s OK to lie about winning one of these. But if you are going to lie to actually benefit in some material way, I think that needs to be held to a higher standard.”

 On this Memorial Day and every day, we not only honor all military personnel who gave the last full measure of devotion in combat to their country, we also honor all military Veterans who at one point in their life, wrote a blank check made payable to “The United States of America” for an amount “up to and including their lives,” and we will not forget to honor those courageous military canine who have protected members of the US Armed Forces going in “Harm’s Way” daily.  This year we ask all Americans to please remember two former US Navy SEALs who ran to the sound of gunfire, even though they were told to “STAND DOWN”, and by their heroic action saved the lives of 32 Americans who were under attack in the Benghazi Mission by 125+ Al Q’ieda terrorist.

On this Memorial Day weekend, we want to share the below listed story about Sgt Ross Gundlach, USMC, a Dog Handler in Afghanistan, and Casey, his US Marine Corps canine partner.  Sgt Gundlach credits Casey with saving his life during some of the 150 combat missions they prosecuted together in Afghanistan, while Casey was searching for and detecting explosives devices planted by terrorists to kill US military combat personnel.

The video, "Underground Great Wall of China", can be viewed by clicking on the below listed link; it was produced by Georgetown University.  It relates how China went public in 2009 with how they have hardened 3000 kilometers of tunnels under the Great Wall, and that those hardened sites are safe from bunker busting nuclear weapons.  The hardened sites were created to protect China’s nuclear warheads and intercontinental ballistic missiles from a direct attack; it was a game changer in the balance of nuclear weapons.  The Chinese can house over 100 million soldiers/people in those tunnels. The firm number of China’s nuclear warheads possess is not known for sure, but they total somewhere between 420 and 3000 nuclear warheads, and china keeps increasing their numbers.

 On Armed Forces Day, we remember the many young high school graduates who entered the military in the 1950s whom were very motivated to serve, because of examples set by relatives who served in WWII; their relatives were members of the Greatest Generation.  After Pearl Harbor was attacked by Japan, many of the young men in the nation dropped out of high school to volunteer for combat at the beginning of WWII—it was a selfless and patriotic act by a truly Great Generation of Americans. 

Today only a small percentage of America’s youth are motivated to volunteer and serve in the military; those who are serving are members of the greatest military fighting force in the world.   We “honor” all who served in defense of the Republic in years gone by, those who gave the last full measure of devotion, and especially those going into “Harm’s Way” today in Afghanistan and in the World Wide War on Terrorism.  Thank a Veteran and/or a member of the US Armed Forces for their service to the Republic.

 Obama is planning to “unilaterally” reduce the US nuclear arsenal to 1000 warhead from 1550 warheads; when Obama came into office there was a high of 5113 warheads.  Specialists on nuclear deterrence say further cuts beyond the 1,550 deployed warheads agreed to in the 2010 New START Arms Treaty will undermine the United States' ability to deter nuclear attacks from Russia and China, who have significant modernization programs underway and are aggressively increasing their nuclear weapons arsenals.  Yet Obama is bypassing Congress to further reduce “unilaterally” the US nuclear arsenal from 1550, to 1000 warheads by Executive Order.  While Obama is deactivating the us nuclear arsenal, China continues to aggressively increase its current arsenal of 240 nuclear weapons by an additional 180 new nuclear weapons for deployment in Chinese nuclear submarines (China is planning to aggressively build more nuclear weapons), Russia is aggressively increasing the number in its arsenal from its current level of 3800 strategic nuclear weapons, North Korea is aggressively expanding the number of its nuclear weapons aimed at the US, and Iran will soon have nuclear weapons.  

Obama “unilateral” action is the most dangerous action any Commander-in-Chief has ever done to the Republic in 238 years, while Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Martin Dempsey, USA presides over the deactivation of the US nuclear arsenal further degrading the strength of the US Armed Forces!  In addition to cuts in the nation's nuclear arsenal, the Obama Administration appears to be getting ready to limit U.S. missile defenses in a new agreement with Russia that Obama said he would do in his open-microphone comment in March 2012 with Russian’s President Dmitry Medvedevhe.  Obama told Medvedevhe that he would be free to reduce the US missile defense after he was re-elected, and the recorded comment from an open mike was played on major TV Networks prior to his re-election.

 The death of 30 US Military personnel in an operation in Afghanistan, including 17 members of SEAL Team SIX, who 90 days previously, had taken out Osama Bin Laden, was the largest single loss of American military personnel in one operation in the 12 year conflict in Afghanistan.  Al Q’ieda had previously signaled that SEAL Team SIX had been targeted.   After 2 years, the persistent failure by the Obama Administration to provide the families of those 30 military personnel with certain facts surrounding their deaths has resulted in the families going public and making charges of a cover-up.

 Since early 2012, the CIA has been aiding Arab governments and Turkey in obtaining and shipping weapons to the Syrian rebels; using the US Consulate and CIA Annex in Benghazi.  The New York Times report claims most of the weapons shipments facilitated by the CIA began after the 2012 presidential election.  This is the second time the Obama Administration has shipped guns; the first time they do so, they did so to drug cartels in Mexico in the Fast and Furious Operation which began on October 31, 2009, and one of those guns was used to kill a US Border Patrolman, the other guns were used to murder thousands of Mexican citizens (Fast and Furious has been an ongoing cover-up by Eric Holder and Obama Administration officials for 3 and a half years).  

Middle Eastern Security officials have said U.S.-aided weapons shipments go back more than a year, escalating before the Sept. 11, 2012, attack on the U.S. Consulate and CIA Annex in Benghazi.  In fact, the Middle Eastern Security officials describe the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi and nearby CIA Annex attacked last September 11, 2012 as intelligence and planning centers for U.S. for aid to the rebels in the Middle East, particularly those fighting Syria’s Assad Regime; many of those weapons have been given to the Moslem Brotherhood and Al Q’ieda affiliates by inept and incompetent Obama Administration officials.
