US Marine Corp Birthday

We honor all US Marines not only on this November 10th, the US Marine Corps’ 243rd Birthday, but on every day.  Over the last 9+ years, 35 of the 121 endorsed Combat Veterans For Congress were elected to Congress.  In addition, 36 of the 121 endorsed Combat Veterans For Congress were US Marines; they are listed on the Endorsements and Alumni pages of our Web site.  

Eight of the 36 US Marines that were endorsed as Combat Veterans For Congress were elected to Congress.  Those US Marines who have served their country in combat as US Marines, and subsequently continued their service to the Republic as members of US House of Representatives are Cong John P. A review of the 31 campaigns of endorsed Combat Veterans For Congress for the period from 2017 to 2018 is presented below:

From 2017 to 2018, 55 new Combat Veterans from 23 states were reviewed for endorsement.  Eleven Combat Veterans For Congress from 8 states were subsequently endorsed, 6 of those endorsed Combat Veterans For Congress from 4 states won their primary elections, and 20 elected Combat Veterans For Congress from 15 states made up the field of 26 endorsed Combat Veterans For Congress, who campaigned and were supported to prevail in their November 2018 midterm general election campaigns. 

Five endorsed and elected Combat Veterans For Congress did not seek election in the November 2018 midterm election:

Cong Ron DeSantis, Lcdr-USNR (JAGC) (R-FL-6) ran for Governor of Florida and was elected.
 

Cong Steve Pearce, Capt-USAF (R-NM-2) ran for Governor of New Mexico, but was not elected.  

Cong Ryan Zinke, Cdr-USN(Ret) (SEAL) (R-MT-1) was appointed Secretary of the Interior by President Trump.  

Cong James Bridenstine, Lcdr-USNR (R-OK-1) was appointed as the NASA Administrator by President Trump.  

Regretfully, cancer took the life of Senator John McCain, USNA ’58, Capt-USN (Ret) (WW) in August 2018.

On October 29, 2018, CNN’s Don Lemon stated on a national TV broadcast “We have to stop demonizing people and realize the biggest terror threat in this country is “White Men”, most of them radicalized to the right, and we have to start doing something about them.”

That racist slander by CNN about “White Males” is now being promoted by the left of center liberal media establishment on air daily, they have also been labeling President Trump a racist, a white supremist, a Nazi, and Hitler, and say he hates people of color and Jews.  Progressive Marxist, Democrat Socialists, and Communists now fill the ranks of the new Socialist Democrat Party, and have partnered with the left of center liberal TV news commentators, the Radical Democrat elected leaders, and the New York Times spewing divisive hateful rhetoric daily and have been dividing the nation, ever since Hillary Clinton was soundly defeated in the 2016 presidential election by Donald J. Trump.

It is with truly deep sadness, that we inform you that on October 23, 1918, a US Naval Academy Football standout, Captain Raymond Burke “Buddy” Welborn, USNA ’59, USN (Ret), PhD, N*, who was awarded the Thompson Trophy for Athletics in 1959, passed away peacefully of complications from an aortic aneurism at age 82, in League City, TX; his son Raymond Burke, Jr., USNA ’85 was by his side.  Capt Welborn was born in Bryan Texas, on August 13, 1936, and attended Rice University for 1 year before entering the United States Naval Academy in 1955, joining the Class of 1959.

Captain R. “Buddy” Welborn, USN (Ret), graduated from the US Naval Submarine School, was Submarine and Surface Warfare Qualified, was selected as a ship’s Commanding Officer, was an author, a college professor, a Trustee of the US Naval Academy Foundation, and a 7 year member of the Combat Veterans For Congress PAC Board of Directors.  Following weekly Navy Football contests, Capt Welborn became well known for posting football game reports, for distribution on the Internet to many USNA Alumni groups.  Those reports had been acclaimed for the exactingly informative analysis; they were reminiscence of the style of legendary sportswriter, Grantland Rice.

Midshipman “Buddy” Wellborn did not enter the US Naval Academy on a football scholarship, was given no padded grades, had no professional football career to look forward to following graduation, yet he played with consistent dedication and loyalty for and with his Navy football teammates, for Navy’s Football Coach Eddie Erdelatz, for members of the Brigade of Midshipmen, and for the US Naval Academy.  He was a member of another of “Navy’s Football Team” through the ages, that loyally played to win together.

In the below listed article from Breitbart News, Ammar Yasser Campa-Najjar’s Congressional Campaign made a donation to CAIR.  CAIR has strong ties with the Muslim Brotherhood International Terrorist Organization and Hamas as explained below.  The US State Department has designated Hamas a Foreign Terrorist Organization.  The Muslim Brotherhood has been outlawed and designated dangerous International Terrorist Organizations by Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Bahrein, the United Arab Emirates, and Russia.

In 1994, CAIR  was created by and for The Muslim Brotherhood International Terrorist organization, as its public relations front organization.  The Muslim Brotherhood also instigated the creation of Al Q’ieda, ISIS, Hamas, and other terrorist groups.  In 2014, CAIR was designated an International Terrorist Organization and outlawed by the United Arab Emirates.

What the left of center liberal media establishment has coordinated, in their cover up in the background of Christine Blasey-Ford that has been well-known by students at Palo Alto University, is that she is as an extremist and Progressive Professor, who has been a Never Trump demonstrator ever since Donald Trump ran for office, and that she degrades President Trump in campus discussions.  

The question facing the US Justice System and American citizens, is if a person is ever accused of a crime, should they be found guilty, as soon as they are accused?  Should the US Justice System and all US Laws that always treated all accused individuals as “innocent until proven guilty” be set aside and allow a simple accusation of an individual, with no proof to back up the accusation, be ignored and allowed to find that individual guilty? 

In her well-rehearsed testimony before the Senate Panel on September 27th, while being coached by her attorneys, Christine Blasey-Ford came across as a mixed up and troubled woman.  Her demeanor and appearance wasn’t normal for a person of her age, education, and standing.  As a mature woman, she gave responses to questions in an abnormally weak and high pitched little girl’s voice, which led viewers to wonder whether she was acting, or if she had mental problems.  A Body Language Expert analyzed Christine while she testified to the allegation that Judge Kavanaugh sexually abused her 36 years ago; the overall analysis by the Body Language Expert was that “Something’s Wrong Mentally” with Christine.

We’ve been asked by many supporters about “With Honor”, a new organization that has endorsed 200 veterans to run for Congress.  Five of the 200 veterans they endorsed in 2018 are among the 31 Combat Veterans For Congress we’ve endorsed.  Besides the 5 endorsed Combat Veterans For Congress, they have also endorsed 6 previously elected Congressmen, as well a very large number of veterans running for Congress.    

We only recruit and endorse Combat Veterans to run for Congress.  Over the last 9 years, we have communicated with 499 Combat Veterans and endorsed 120 to run for Congress.  We are pleased that 88 of them won their primary elections and 32 endorsed Combat Veterans For Congress were elected to Congress (3 US Senators and 29 US Congressmen).  We do not have any paid staff, nor the type of financial backing to do an in depth evaluation of many hundreds of veterans in order to finally endorse 200. 
 

In the 2017 through 2018 time frame, we’ve evaluated 54 Combat Veterans from 23 states, and endorsed 10 Combat Veterans For Congress, which is substantially less than the 200 candidates “With Honor” endorsed.  We also re-endorsed 21 Combat Veterans For Congress, endorsing a total of 31 Combat Veterans For Congress to run in 2018.  However, one endorsed Combat Veteran For Congress is now running for Governor of Florida, another was appointed by President Donald Trump as Secretary of the Interior, a third was appointed by President Trump as the new NASA Administrator, and a fourth, US Senator John McCain, recently passed away.  

Possibly the success of our endorsement program, in contributing greatly toward the election of 32 endorsed Combat Veterans For Congress over the last 9 years, may have had something to do with the establishment of “With Honor”.  Liberal and leftist donors, like Jeff Bezos, have donated $20 million to fund “With Honor”; we do not have that…

In 2010, Senator John McCain endorsed the Combat Veterans For Congress PAC.  Following Senator McCain’s endorsement, the Combat Veterans For Congress PAC endorsed Senator McCain, as a Combat Veterans For Congress.  In July 2011, Senator John McCain wrote and distributed a fundraising letter, to his supporters nationally, in order to solicit donations for the election of endorsed Combat Veterans For Congress.  Over the previous 8 years, Senator McCain had always been supportive of the other two endorsed Combat Veterans For Congress elected to the US Senate, and to the 29 endorsed Combat Veterans For Congress elected to the US House of Representatives.

Over those 8 years, on a monthly basis, without fail, we have been repeatedly criticized, vilified, and threatened for maintaining our endorsement of Senator John McCain as a Combat Veteran For Congress.  We always explained to those never ending E-mail complainants, who harassed and criticized the PAC, that we didn’t always agree with Senator McCain’s stances on various issues, such as some issues on Illegal Immigration, some Middle East issues, and a few others.  However, we don’t always agree with all the stands of the other 31 endorsed and elected Combat Veterans For Congress on certain issues.  

In some cases, endorsed Combat Veterans For Congress have been impulsive with their comments, not necessarily on firm footing on certain issues, been at fault because of some improprieties, and have been imperfect in handling some sensitive issues.  Which of us has not been imperfect on how we handled sensitive issues?  We have gone to extraordinary lengths to investigate, then dispel many of the stories vilifying Senator McCain on the Internet, and have been able to disprove nearly all of them to our satisfaction.

The Democrat candidate running against Congressman Duncan Hunter, in the 50th Congressional District, is 28 year old Ammar Campa-Najjar who has family ties to the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO).  He was taken to the Gaza Strip to be raised among Palestinians by his Palestinian father, Yasser al-Najjar, and remained there until age 12.

The below listed PBS article reveals that for centuries, education courses once taught to students in grammar schools, middle schools, and in high schools, extoled “America’s Heritage,” explained the freedoms outlined in The Bill of Rights, provided an “accurate History of the US,” and explained that the US Constitution is the foundation of the Republic’s government.  Over a 200 year period, American Educators taught students about “America’s Core Values,” “America’s Heritage,” and “American Exceptionalism.”  This gave students a unity of purpose which brought the melting pot of America’s diverse cultures together, and strengthened and unified American citizens in common goals.     

Individual State Education Departments once controlled the curriculum in public schools and encouraged County School Boards to employ approved Social Studies and US History textbooks with an accurate record of events in US History.  The State controlled curricula taught students the magnificent philosophy that the Republic was founded on, explained the student’s heritage to be proud of, lionized the Founding Fathers, promoted principals of good moral character, explained that The Free Enterprise System built the most successful economic engine in the history of mankind, and that since its founding, America defeated dictators and freed millions of oppressed people.  

America’s success through the ages did not flow from its military victories, nor from America’s economic strength created by The Free Enterprise System.  The success of the Republic resulted from teaching America’s children about their “Heritage,” about an accurate History of the US, that the United States is the only country in history to wage a Civil War to eliminate slavery, that over 500,000 American military personnel gave their lives to free enslaved people…

There has been over 700 demonstrations against Immigration and Customs Enforcement Federal Law Enforcement Agents (ICE), throughout the nation over the last 3 weeks.  The 50 offices of Obama’s “Organization For Action (OFA)” have been coordinating the demonstrations, with the support of their 32,525 members, and with the help of 14 field organizers.  The Demonstrators are being transported to various locations, and are being paid by George Soros.
  

The demonstrations are designed to eliminate the force of 6000 ICE Agents whose primary function is to enforce US Federal Immigration Laws, and to apprehend convicted Illegal Alien criminals on the interior of the US.  Obama’s OFA is lying about what ICE Agents are responsible for, and whipping up hysteria by saying ICE is separating Illegal Alien children from their Illegal Alien parents; the left of center liberal media establishment has been promoting that bold faced lie for the last three weeks.

Each year on Independence Day, the Fourth of July, Americans celebrate, express their support for the freedoms they enjoy, and recognize the unlimited opportunities afforded them to improve their stations in life, because of success of The Free Enterprise System which built the most successful economic engine in the history of mankind.  The Fourth of July is also an opportunity for each “Patriotic American Citizen” to celebrate a second symbolic birthday.  

Countless generations of Americans fought for, and under, the American Flag.  The American Flag symbolizes the unity of Americans.  The “Flag” is flown on national holidays, above US Federal buildings, on US Military installations, on US Navy ships, over US Embassies & US Missions, by deployed US military units overseas, and by millions of Americans over their residences.  The “American Flag” symbolizes the principles upon which the Founding Fathers established the Republic, and collectively signed the Declaration of Independence 242 years ago. 

On the Fourth of July, and every day, Americans citizens demonstrate their support for Military Veterans, and members of the US Armed Forces, who at one time in their life, raised their right hand, and swore to protect and defend the US Constitution, then gallantly served in the defense of the Republic, under the American Flag.

The below listed Op Ed, by Admiral James A. Lyons, Jr. USNA ’52. USN (Ret), discusses how the US Navy could counter China’s blue water navy, and oppose China’s plan to control the South China Sea.  Over the last 10 years, China has developed a technically advanced blue water Navy whose goal is to be able to defeat the US Navy with conventional weapons; its rapid technology advances and ship building programs have been fueled by China’s theft of advanced weapons systems and ship designs from US corporations and the US Navy.  China’s long range goal is to become the dominate global naval power in the next decade.    

China’s plan is to expand its fleet to 351 ships, while the US Navy’s goal is to expand its fleet to 355 ships; Pentagon planners should not be planning parity with China, they should take a page out of President Reagan’s playbook, and develop a larger and more advanced US Navy than China’s Navy.  In addition to the Navy’s ship long range building program, it should modernize and recommission a certain number of ships in its reserve fleet.

Over the last 8 years, with no opposition from the Obama administration, China has created 4 artificial manmade island bases on rocky shoals, throughout the South China Sea.  China has developed and is implementing a strategic zone offensive plan for the South China Sea, and will most probably create additional artificial manmade island bases on rocky shoals.  Those island bases can’t be properly defended from a coordinated strike on all four bases at the same time by high flying stealth bombers and submarine launched cruise missiles.  There should never be a need for the US Marine Corps to execute four amphibious assaults to take control of those manmade island bases.

Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, the fiery leftist former mayor of Mexico City, with a double-digit lead in the opinion polls heading into the July 1st national election for the  Presidency of Mexico, vowed on May 18th to hit back at US President Donald Trump, if elected.  By turning a blind eye to the threat that Iran and the Los Zetas Drug Cartel has created in Mexico, outlined below, Republican, Democrat, and Independent members of Congress who continue their opposition to building a secure Border Wall contribute toward undermining the National Security of the United States.

The left of center liberal media establishment continues to cover up the below listed information about the terrorist training programs in Mexico initiated by Hezbollah (Iran’s proxy), the Iranian Republican Guard, and the Quds Force (the Quds Force carries out Iran’s Worldwide terrorist operations).  Since the mid 1980s, Hezbollah has been operating out of reach in South America in the Tri-Border area, where Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay meet.

A number of San Diego County Republican Central Committee members, including Carl DeMaio endorsed Omar Kamal Qudrat and John Renison Rosas to run for Congress.  In light of the below listed facts about Qudrat and Renison Rosas, their endorsements brings into question their judgement, and judgment of Chairman Tony Kravic, who aggressively lobbied for their endorsements.  Those votes were for Open Borders and for Illegal Immigration.  

DeMaio refused to endorse Congressman Duncan D. Hunter, Maj-USMCR (R-CA-50) for re-election, who wants to close the wide open southern border.  On April 20th, US Diplomat James Horn (USN), after making a speech at the Rancho Bernardo Country Club, heard the Tony Kravic extol the virtues of Ammar Campa-Najjar, the grandson of Muhammed Yusuf al-Najjar, who plotted the Munich massacre of Olympic athletes.  Ammar Campa-Najjar is being promoted by supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR to run for Congress against Cong Hunter. 

DeMaio publicly endorsed a Mexican citizen to run for Congress in San Diego County, whose business and home are located south of the border.  Even a casual observer is aware that drug cartels could very easily hold a business south of the border hostage to their sinister demands.  DeMaio has also endorsed a carpetbagger some of whose donors, also support the Muslim Brotherhood International Terrorist Organization.  

DeMaio and Kravic have also been supporting the Log Cabin Group candidates to run for Congress, year after year; when the Log Cabin Group is not even a Republican organization.  Kravic and DeMaio continue to endorse candidates for Congress who keep losing in the General Election, because Republicans reject their choices and continue to vote for Cong Peters, to ensure the candidates that Kravic and DeMaio support don’t get elected.

Over a 9 year period, from 2009 to 2018, thousands of hours have been spent communicating with 499 Combat Veterans from 50 states, additional thousands of hours have been spent doing background investigation and endorsing Combat Veterans For Congress.  Leading to the 2016 election, 112 Independent, Conservative, and Republican candidates from 38 states were endorsed, 82 of them won their primary elections, and 29% of them, or 32 endorsed Combat Veterans For Congress from 22 states were elected to Congress (3 Senators and 29 US Congressmen).  To date this year in 2018, 27 Combat Veterans For Congress from 18 states have been endorsed; prior to the November 2018 mid-term election, the number of endorsed Combat Veterans For Congress may increase to 35. 
 

The reason 29% of the 112 endorsed Combat Veterans For Congress, with no campaign experience, had no experience in politics, and no polish on the stump, but were elected because they were very hard workers, and because the County Republican Parties in 38 states where they ran, embraced them, promoted their fundraising events, helped mobilize volunteers to support their campaigns, and in many cases made donations to their campaigns.  

In every case over the last 9 years, the endorsed Combat Veterans For Congress in the 11 Congressional races in San Diego County, also had no campaign experience, had no experienced in politics, had no polish on the stump, and were very hard workers like the Combat Veterans For Congress in 38 states nationally, who won 32 Congressional races, the difference is that they had no support “at all” from the San Diego County Republican Chairman.

For the last 75 years, the US has spent hundreds of billions of dollars to have the US Armed Forces protect international borders and fund the construction of border walls in a countless number of countries throughout the world.  Unfortunately, for the last 40 years, the United States has not had secure international borders in its own country.  

The American citizens are no longer safe from the invasion of drugs smugglers, Radical Islamic Terrorists, smugglers of women sold for prostitution, MS 13 gang members from Central America, convicted criminals/repeat offenders who prey on the lives of innocent Americans, the influx of millions of illegal aliens, and the spread of infective diseases throughout the nation and in public schools, because illegal aliens are no longer quarantined in compliance with The Immigration and Nationality Act.  Over the last 40 years, the United States has been invaded by over 20 million of illegal aliens who continue to violate US Federal Immigration Laws.   

Millions of illegal aliens have refused to assimilate, refused to honor the American flag, continue to pay allegiance to Mexico, take advantage of US welfare benefits, receive more food stamps than any state in the nation, receive billions of dollars in medical treatment, and their children who cannot read or write English restrict the progress of education in grammar schools.  Illegal Immigration has become the “Achilles Heel” for the Republic, and the sinister forces that support illegal immigration, designed to change the character of the Republic, are undercutting the rule of law, and already have taken control of the governance of the State of California.
